3 Fall Activities For Catholic Families

3 Fall Activities For Catholic Families

As the weather cools down, Fall is the time for apple cider, pumpkin patches, and family movie nights.

It is also a season when the Catholic faithful are invited to support those who are less fortunate.

Here are 3 fall activities to draw your family closer to God:

1) Volunteer at your parish’s fall festival.

Not only are these activities fun for kids, they are also an opportunity to engage with other children their age. A parish Halloween Party or other Fall Festival encourages your family to connect with others.

2) Hold a Winter Clothing Swap at your parish.

People in your community may appear to have enough, but many are underemployed and live just above the poverty line. A Winter Clothing Swap allows the people in your parish to declutter gently-used clothing and can help struggling families obtain warm clothes for the winter season. Serve hot apple cider and invite your swap guests to sit and visit. It’s another great way to connect with others!

3) Request a Mass for the homeless.

While meeting the physical needs of the poor is critical, we shouldn’t neglect their spiritual health. Requesting a Mass for the homeless allows your prayer intentions to be connected to the whole Church. It is an eternal gift that has a greater impact than any other activity you could choose. Include your children in the process to show them how important the holy Mass is and the benefits that flow from it.

The Seraphic Mass Association joins your prayer requests with Capuchin missionary friars all over the world. There is no limit to the number of Masses you can request. The process takes just a few simple clicks on our website. Your donation allows for Capuchin friars to continue in their ministries, helping some of the poorest in the world.

A Mass is a gift that never ends and unites your intentions to the sacrifice of our Lord.
