This Japanese Statue Of Mary Wept Tears

On October 13, 1973, as Sr. Agnes Sasagawa knelt to pray the rosary in a convent in Akita, Japan, the Blessed Mother appeared to her. Once again, Mary had an important message to share with the people of God. Sister Agnes experienced three visitations from Mary and then witnessed the miraculous weeping of a statue of Mary in the nearby tabernacle in her church.

The statue of Mary is said to have wept 101 times until it finally came to an end on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, September 15th, 1981. Over the course of those years, several people witnessed the real tears coming from the statue and many also saw blood come from the wounds in her hands. This apparition was approved by the Catholic Church and drew much attention from all over Japan and throughout the world.

Mary came to Akita with a powerful message. She urged people, “Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved.”

It’s a message for all of God’s people, but have we listened? The Blessed Mother's words were similar to those she spoke at Fatima, Kibeho, and most recently in San Nicholas.

“Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.” - Our Lady of Akita

The newly released film, Power In My Hands, provides more encouragement for the faithful to take up this devotion of praying the Holy Rosary daily. This film shares the compelling stories of a 13-member All-Star cast who began to pray the rosary and the miracles that happened in their lives as a result. If you wish to learn more about the Blessed Mother and her message of peace for the world, this film is for you! Power In My Hands is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. Don’t miss it!
