The Way We Pray Reflects The Joy Of The Season!

Advent is a season of preparation for the Birth of Our Lord. Much like Lent, many Catholics choose to use this time to adopt a new spiritual practice that will help them to grow in holiness. The Holy Rosary is a form of prayer that the saints and spiritual leaders have always recommended, but it is especially beneficial during Advent because it guides us in contemplating the life of Christ.

There is a slight change to the way we pray the Rosary during Advent. Because we are in a season of great joy, we not only pray the Joyful Mysteries on Mondays and Saturdays, we also pray these Mysteries on Sundays.

The Joyful Mysteries - The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Nativity, The Presentation, and The Finding of Jesus in the Temple - allow us to come to Jesus through Mary and walk with her through the Birth of Christ.

It often seems that our modern culture has forgotten the power of the Holy Rosary. Begin incorporating this beautiful form of prayer as often as you can during the Advent season. If you can’t commit to an entire Rosary daily, start with just one decade. Our Lady has promised many blessings to those who practice this devotion.
